Suppliers and manufacturers don’t care how innovative or cool your store will be if you’re not carrying the other brands they want to be compared to.
4. Oh, he’s investing…ok, I’m in.
People who actually invest in your retail idea are either smart like you or a friend or family member. The people who don’t either think they are smarter than you or they are people you shouldn’t be friends with anymore.
3. Someone is already doing what you’re doing.
Some people will ask you everything about your business because they’re genuinely interested, but most of them will question you to try to break you.
2. Your idea sounds good, but I doubt it will work.
If they can’t break you, they will pray for your downfall because they don’t want to a) look stupid for not believing you, b) regret not investing or c) hate the fact that they didn’t coming up with it themselves.
1. Be modest only if it helps.
The few people who actually believe in you want to see, hear and feel confidence. For anyone else, modesty and humility can be exercised until they become a believer. Then be confident again.

I don't get the idea of investing here: where's the ROI? Is this a partnership or do you guarantee the original investment +% ?
