After spending dozens of weekends in Manhattan and Brooklyn while living in D.C. and then visiting friends on multiple occasions in '09, I went to New York for the first time in over a year just before Christmas. As always, I had a great time, but I had so many meetings crammed into the three-day trip that I barely got time to enjoy myself. That's precisely why my most recent trip, just last week, was really enjoyable. It was intended as a five-day follow up business trip to meet with various designers, media and others to discuss Style X, but after the snow came down on Wednesday, and my trip home to Austin was delayed two days, it became so much more because of the time I spent looking at interesting things and spending time with friends, both new and old. Also, while I know Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, and a plethora of other natural beauties, are visually stunning, for a city guy like me there's no place with more visual stimulation than New York. Here are some photos.
